It is with extreme reluctance
yet with due regard to my character and position
in this Government that I respectfully request your perusal of a correspondence which has passed between my Department and that of the Acting Colonial Secretary at Hongkong.
The accompanying correspondence discloses that a clerical error was committed by my Department in the insertion of a wrong date, and I submit a legal defect.
